Dancing In The Storm

As women, we have diverse roles.

We are a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a colleague.. the list goes on.

Which role is challenging for your right now?

Recently, as a Mom, there are times when I feel I don’t know what to do..

In all the ways that I know to parent my children, I know God’s way is the best.

So there are times where I prayed for them, yet I surrender them to God. What He wants for their lives. Who He called them to be, not my will but His will be done in their lives.

I pray that He open my eyes to see what He sees for them.

I see not just the current situation which may be discouraging, but see what He sees in them; their gifts, their talents, their unique way of doing things.

One night, I was feeling rather down.

I put on my airpods and just listen to this worship song.

As I worship and put my mind on Him, I see this picture.

It felt as if I was in the midst of a storm. I can feel the strong wind blowing against my hair.

I hear the howling of the wind and feel the sprays of water on my face.

The boat I am in is bobbing up and down amidst the choppy waters.

Despite all these, I feel like I want to walk on the water. Just like Peter.

In the midst of the storm, I want to take that leap of faith. Just like Peter, I said, Lord, I want to walk on the water. I want to reach the other side where you are.

As I step out, I am walking on water. My steps are held up in the water! I was elated, I was thrilled! My eyes locked with Jesus' eyes and suddenly, I did not hear the howling of the wind, or feel the wind. At that moment, it was just Jesus and me.

As I reached out for Him, I was tightly embraced in His loving arms.

I felt safe. I felt that everything was going to be alright.

And then He led me to a dance. In that storm, we are dancing.

The storm no longer scares me. The storm no longer matters.

In the midst of the storm, I am dancing with My Maker.

He knows and guides me through each step. He has choreographed just the right and perfect dance for me.I do not need to know the steps. I just need to follow Him. Follow His leading, follow His prompting, and without me knowing, we are dancing THE DANCE He has choreographed for me, in the storm.

Such Victory!

Are you in the midst of a storm? Or do you feel like you are in the valley?

With Jesus, He will be the LIGHT even in the darkest valley. In fact, light shines at its brightest in the dark.

Just like a diamond has many facets, we discover a new dimension of our Lord’s love and presence through each challenges.

And a diamond shines best against a dark background.

And for His beloved, they will not just survive through.

For we are not called to just survive through circumstances, but be OVERCOMERS.

I find this to be so true, quoting Pastor Bill Johnson,

“There are measures of God’s Presence that you can only find in the valley of the shadow of death.”

I pray that each of us discover for ourselves, the beauty of His presence amidst our challenges.
