He fights for you

It is a new year. Brand new year, like fresh new pages of a book, waiting to be filled. With endless possibilities and moments to create and cherish . What have you plan or purpose to do for this new year? Any goals have you set to achieve?
Perhaps there are disappointments and feelings of defeat and despair from the challenges of last year. You still need your breakthrough. You are still waiting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It seems that the difficulties of last year were not settled yet and you are not really looking forward for this new year. With a new year, there bound to be new problems and challenges. Last year’s heartache were still holding you back and dragging you down. How to face this new year?
At this beginning of the year, I want to encourage you to lift up your eyes. Yes the problems and the challenges are so real and can be screaming at you. But take this time to be quiet and still and look above. And listen to what the Lord is saying.
As I was quiet and listening, I felt the Lord said to me,
“My daughter, there may be many things that are vying for your attention, pulling you in all directions. But, look at me and listen. What AM I saying about it?”
There and then, my heart is put at ease. The fears and worries at the back of my head just seems to lost their voice. When I put my attention to My God, when I focus on what He says, it brings such clarity to me.
And I want to start the new year like that with Him. I want to let go of the hurts, the disappointments and the unknown. I invite Him to chart my course for this new year. I want Him to write on the pages of my book this year.
Not my fears, not my worries, not my insecurities, and not my doubts. I know He holds my tomorrow. I know my God has gone ahead for me this year, making the crooked ways straight and come back to hold my hand to bring me through.
I want you to know He is a loving Father, that is who He is. But He is also the Lion of Judah. To our enemies, He is the ferocious and Mighty One who prevails. They do not have a chance with Him. He reigned supreme above them all.
Our Jesus, His Name is above all Names.
But to His beloved children, the Lord showed me once of Him as the Lion of Judah. The Lion who protects his young fiercely. His eyes looking down so tenderly and with so much love. And we have Him always beside with us. Not us of ourselves, but He together with us, He in us.
“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19
He fights for us.
Our battles, they belong to the Lord.
Just as the Lord said to King Jehoshaphat,
“Do not be afraid nor be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15
The battle is the Lord’s. So you need not have to fight.
“You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!” 2 Chronicles 20:17
Our God is the One who fights for you!
We just have to position ourselves, to listen and to hear to what He is saying and to do. And as we wait, and journey through this new unchartered, unfamiliar waters, let us do it with a heart of thanksgiving with the confidence that the Lord is for us.
Together with the Lord, write the pages of your 2024. Lift all up to Him and let Him defend and fight for you. For me, that seems to be a very very good strategy for this new year. Would you join me?
“But let all those who rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your Name be joyful in You
For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous
With favour You will surround them as with a shield.” Psalms 5:11-12
