Where does help comes from?

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2

Are you in the midst of waiting for a prayer to be answered?

Do you have a prayer that is so urgent that you feel you need the answer swiftly.

You need the answer asap.

“Lord, I need it now.”

“I need You to look at me and bring life and light to my situation.”

How many times have we prayed those desperate prayers?

I have. Many times. Countless times.

I was in a situation where no one else could do anything to help except God.

Only He can help me, only Him alone.

So helpless, I came to Him each day.

Not to ask why.

But rather, I need to be in His presence. I need to soak myself in His love, I need to be face-to-face with my Creator. I need to shut off all the noises and listen to what He says.

What He says about my situation. What should I do?

Some days, I just cried. Some days I was just silent. Some days I just poured out my heart before Him, along with all my fears and doubts.

And God is always there.

He gave me His promises through the Scriptures. He gave me visions to reaffirm me.

He spoke to me directly in my heart. All of them, I wrote down in my journal. These little pieces of His goodness are like my breadcrumbs. In fact, they are what I cling on to. Especially on days where it is hard.

It's like the story of Hansel and Gretel. The breadcrumbs in the forest led them to the gingerbread house.

And these breadcrumbs kept me going. It reassures me that I am not alone.

My Lord is the Good Shepherd. Always leading me, always guiding me. His ways are gentle, comforting my soul. Assuring me that I am on the right path.

Through the times spent with Him, I began to know more and more of Him.

I began to see His heart for me.

I begin to grasp, with my finite understanding, tasting and seeing the depth, the width, the height of His love for me, which passes knowledge.

I do not comprehend it fully, but my eyes are open and my heart starts to ever so gingerly beat the same rhythm as His.

It gives me confidence because I know who My Lord is.

I know Him personally and my hope is ever alive in Him. Because He is a living God.

It gives me that reassuring faith, an absolute confidence in things hope for.

For when I have not seen the answers to my prayers, I trust His heart for me.

I know that He is really working behind the scenes, orchestrating everything, to work for my good, that at the end of the day, His promises are yes and amen.

For He is the God who is able to do what He has promised.

“Indeed I have spoken it

I will also bring it to pass

I have purposed it

I will also do it.” Isaiah 46:11 NKJV

My dear friend, somebody you knew might be in a similar situation.

Or you have heard someone else who experienced the same.

But remember, your situation is not going to be the same as them.

No matter how bleak it looks, your situation will not be the same.

Because you have God.

Run to the Father.

Be still in His presence and listen to Him.

Your Heavenly Father takes care of all your worries and cares.

And He definitely has the last say.

Let Him speak His peace and love into your situation.

Spend time in the Scriptures, for those are all His promises to His beloved children.

And as you hold on and declare His Word into your situation,

The situation might not change yet

But surely our heart and perspective do.

His Word is spirit and His Word is Life. (John 6:63)

I may start with praying for the answer.

But as I come to Him everyday

As I spend time sitting at His feet

I get rewarded with more than I ever prayed for.

I get to know more and more of My Heavenly Father.

I get to taste and see more of my Saviour’s love for me.

I get to know the secrets of His heart.

“There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God,

Where they sit near Him and

receive the revelation-secrets of His promises.” Psalms 25:14 TPT

The answer may not come yet.

But I am so drenched in His love that I enjoy the process of coming to Him each day

Just to draw strength and listen to what He is saying;

There’s the joy unspeakable

And along with it, the shalom peace that surpasses understanding.

“Escort me along the way;

Take me by the hand and teach me.

For You are the God of my increasing salvation,

I have wrapped my heart into yours!” Psalms 25:5 TPT
